As per a report from Liam Twomey of ESPN, Chelsea are keen on the signature of Athletico Paranaense star Bruno Guimaraes.
Guimaraes, a 21-year-old deep-lying midfielder, is regarded as one of the finest young talents in his home country of Brazil.
After coming up through the youth ranks of Sao Paulo-based Audax during the early years of his fledgling career, Guimaraes secured a permanent move to Athletico Paranaense last year, on the back of a season on loan at the Estádio Joaquim Américo.
And the South American has since gone on to establish himself as a key member of Tiago Nunes’ squad.
To this point, he has racked up 32 senior appearances across all competitions, catching the eye of a number of European giants in the process.
All of AC Milan, Inter Milan, Lille and Chelsea have been named as admirers of Guimaraes’ talents.
And, as per the aforementioned report from Liam Twomey this afternoon, the latter of these sides are keen on a summer swoop for the Paranaense standout.
Representatives from the Blues are said to have watched Guimaraes in action during his side’s impressive 3-0 Copa Libertadores defeat of Boca Juniors on Wednesday.
Chelsea are interested in signing Atletico Paranaense midfielder Bruno Guimaraes this summer as they wait to see if their transfer ban is lifted.

Any Chelsea bid, however, will of course be dependent on the outcome of their appeal against the club’s FIFA transfer ban.
FIFA have denied Chelsea’s request to freeze their transfer ban while they appeal. It means that as things stand, the club won’t be able to register new players this summer. Full @ESPNFC story shortly #cfc
