Arsenal reportedly had their scouts in attendance to Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet during his side’s 2-1 league defeat at home to Lazio.
The north London side are on the watch out for a replacement for Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey this summer and Praet has been identified as one of the prime options.
According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, the Capital outfit were keeping a close watch on the proceedings of the former Anderlecht man during the Serie A clash against Lazio.
It is added that the Gunners are not the sole club interested in the midfielder and they could face competition from Juventus, who were likewise monitoring the player’s performance.
Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has already acknowledged that they are likely to sell the Belgian at the right price, and reports indicate that a fee of around £22m could be sufficient to do business.
