Tottenham looking to strengthen this summer
Leeds are bracing themselves for a bid from Tottenham Hotspur for starlet Jack Clarke after an impressive season at Elland Road.
Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds were impressive for the majority of the last Championship season.
While it looked almost certain at one point that Leeds would be promoted to the Premier League automatically, Bielsa’s side struggled during the run in.
That lead to them finishing in the play-off spots and were beaten by Derby in the semi-finals.
Despite their disappointment, they currently have an impressive squad full of talented players.
One of them is 18-year-old winger Jack Clarke.
Clarke has played 22 times for Leeds in the Championship, scoring two goals and assisting just as many.
Unfortunately, Clarke’s season was somewhat halted when he suffered an illness back in February.
Though, after his impressive breakthrough season, Tottenham are set to bid for him.
Leeds bracing themselves for bid
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are bracing themselves for a bid from Tottenham for the starlet.
Their report claims ‘United have yet to receive an official offer from Spurs but the Premier League club are targeting the 18-year-old’s signature after his breakthrough season at Elland Road.’
With his current deal set to expire in 2021, Leeds may look to cash in on their impressive youngster.
There is no mention of how much Clarke would cost Tottenham, but he likely won’t come cheap.
Tottenham want to sign Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos – AS
Clarke isn’t the only youngster Tottenham are being linked with.
According to reports this week, Spurs also want to sign Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos.
With the Spaniard set to leave the Bernabeu this summer, it wouldn’t be too hard to sign him either.
